Expediciones Coyhaique Fly Fishing is a family business, with expertise in specialized fly fishing programs. Founded in 1989, it employs a select group of experienced, bilingual local guides, and has 4x4 vehicles, boats, rafts, and everything you need for a safe and successful fly fishing trip to the best and least visited fishing spots in Chilean Patagonia.
The programs are based in our own lodging infrastructure, built in two strategic locations. Encantado Lodge, located 25 km. from the city of Coyhaique, and just 30 minutes from the Balmaceda airport, provides convenient access to several rivers such as the Simpson, Mañihuales and Ñirehuao, among many other smaller bodies of waters of Chilean Patagonia, all full of wild trout. And our second Lodge, "Rodeo los Palos Lodge" is located in the more remote area of Lake Misterioso, a 2-hour drive from Encantado Lodge which is our base. In this area we fish three small lakes (ranging from 75 to 200 hectares) in boats specially equipped for fly fishing, with experienced guides that will silently row to the best spots that are the habitat of amazingly large wild brown trout, and where every angler gets to fish the trophy trout of their life.
